Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy applies to visitors and users of the ValuFund website and funding proposal builder, preparers and advisers who co-brand a generated report, people who contact ValuFund, and anyone else who interacts with the website.

ValuFund is intended primarily for adult business users such as business owners, buyers and acquirers, investors and sponsors, accountants, finance brokers, corporate-finance advisers and commercial-finance professionals.

The data controller responsible for ValuFund is THINKERZ LTD, Company No. SC778478, registered office at Clyde Offices, 2nd Floor, 48 West George Street, Glasgow, Scotland, G2 1BP.

The funding proposal workflow may contain commercially sensitive business information, which can include:

• proposal name and reference
• business or target name, sector and description
• management and buyer / sponsor information
• historical and forecast financial information
• revenue, EBITDA and net profit
• funding requirement, sources & uses, debt facilities, interest rates and terms
• vendor / deferred consideration
• borrower / SPV information and security
• proposed covenants and conditions precedent
• CFADS assumptions
• transaction or funding rationale
• risk and mitigation narratives

Core proposal state is intended to remain within the current browser session and is not saved to a ValuFund user account or proposal database. ValuFund does not provide cloud-saved proposals, accounts or persistent proposal storage. “Start Again” clears the active proposal state from the browser session.

Please do not enter unnecessary personal information, or especially sensitive personal data, into free-text fields. ValuFund is a business finance utility and does not require personal special-category data.

Users may optionally enter a preparer name, firm or organisation, email, telephone, website, and a firm or adviser logo. Where provided, this information is used to co-brand the generated report as requested.

The optional logo is held only within the browser session as part of the active proposal and is not uploaded to or stored in a ValuFund asset library or user profile.

Users should only upload a logo or provide personal or contact information they are authorised to use.

ValuFund works fully without AI. Where a user deliberately chooses “Draft with AI”, the relevant information from the proposal must be transmitted for processing by the AI functionality used by ValuFund so that the requested narrative can be generated.

• AI use is optional and initiated by the user for each request
• relevant proposal context may be transmitted for that request only
• users should avoid sending unnecessary personal or confidential information
• AI-generated wording remains fully editable
• users are responsible for reviewing AI output before relying on or sharing it

The existence of AI drafting does not mean all proposal data is transmitted. We do not make specific claims about whether third-party AI providers train on data, exact retention periods or processing locations, as these depend on the underlying service configuration.

Where you contact ValuFund at hello@valufund.io, we may process your name, email address, message contents and any information you voluntarily supply in order to respond to your enquiry.

Normal website infrastructure may process technical information such as:

• IP address
• browser and device type
• operating system
• approximate geographic region
• referral information
• request timestamps
• diagnostic and security information

This technical hosting information is separate from the financial proposal inputs entered into the browser-based utility.

ValuFund's own application does not implement product analytics, advertising trackers or behavioural profiling, and does not send the financial values you enter to any analytics service.

The website is built and hosted on a third-party application platform whose runtime may record limited technical and usage telemetry — for example page-view and navigation events (the route being viewed) and technical diagnostics — in order to operate, secure and improve the service. This platform telemetry is separate from your proposal inputs and does not include the figures entered into the builder.

If additional analytics are introduced in future, they will not include proposal financial values, and this section will be updated.

Information may be used to:

• operate the service
• respond to enquiries
• provide optional, user-requested AI drafting
• maintain security
• carry out technical troubleshooting
• prevent misuse
• improve usability and performance
• comply with legal obligations
• establish or defend legal rights

ValuFund does not sell proposal information or personal information.

Where personal data is processed, the relevant lawful basis will depend on the processing activity. The bases that may apply include:

• legitimate interests, for operating and securing the website and responding to enquiries
• consent, where required (for example, where you actively request optional AI drafting)
• contract, or steps taken before entering into a contract, where applicable
• legal obligation, where we are required to retain or disclose information

Not every basis applies to every processing operation. Most core proposal information is not personal data and is not transmitted to ValuFund.

ValuFund distinguishes between:

• browser-session proposal state, which holds the active proposal while you work
• hosting and security cookies or similar technologies used by the website infrastructure
• platform usage and navigation telemetry, and technical diagnostics, used by the hosting environment

ValuFund does not intentionally use proposal financial data for advertising profiling. We do not claim there are zero infrastructure cookies, as some may be used by the hosting environment.

Service providers may process limited information where required for hosting and application infrastructure, optional AI generation, email and communications, security and technical services, and platform usage and navigation telemetry. ValuFund is built and hosted using a third-party application platform.

Infrastructure and service providers may process information outside the UK. Where required by applicable law, appropriate safeguards are used for any such transfer. We do not assert a specific transfer mechanism unless it is confirmed.

• Proposal data: not intended to be persistently retained by ValuFund as a saved proposal.
• Preparer logo and details: held in the browser session unless separately transmitted as part of another user-requested process.
• AI requests: processed as necessary to fulfil the user-requested AI drafting function; we do not state specific provider retention periods.
• Contact correspondence: kept for as long as reasonably necessary to respond and for legitimate record-keeping.
• Technical and security records: retained according to applicable infrastructure and security configuration.
• Legal records: may be retained where required by law.

Keeping core proposal processing browser-based reduces unnecessary transmission of commercially sensitive financial information. No internet or browser environment, however, can be guaranteed to be completely secure.

Where personal data is held by ValuFund and UK data-protection law applies, individuals may have rights to:

• access
• rectification
• erasure
• restriction of processing
• objection
• data portability where applicable
• withdrawal of consent where consent is the basis

If information exists solely inside your own browser and has never been transmitted to ValuFund, ValuFund cannot retrieve, access, correct or delete it because THINKERZ LTD does not hold it.

If you have a concern about how we handle personal data that we cannot resolve, you have the right to complain to the UK Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk.

ValuFund may link to third-party websites. We are not responsible for the privacy practices or content of those websites.

ValuFund is a professional business-finance utility intended for adult users and is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children.

We may update this Privacy Policy as the product, technology or law changes. The “Last updated” date above will be revised accordingly.
